1 POWER OF AGREEMENT IN PRAYER

2 DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRAYER
Adoration Petition/Supplication Confession Thanksgiving Declaration Intercession

3 INTERCESSION Act of standing in the gap and intervening on behalf of another Intercessors don’t just pray; they make requests, urge, plead, counsel, discuss, risk, sacrifice and make war on issues relating to others, often weaker ones Intercessors fulfill a two-fold purpose Seek divine intervention from God Destroy the works of the enemy Jesus is our ultimate example because He stood in the gap and secured our salvation. According to Heb 7:25 & Rom 8:34 He is still sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding for us.

4 WHY IS PRAYER SO IMPORTANT
God is in charge; He’s not in control He is the KING, He REIGNS He has the right to exercise His SOVEREIGNTY at any point He does not regulate all decisions made He allows us to exercise our free will to make our own choices Sheri Silk – On a good day I control myself (self-control) on a very good day I control myself all day long. As Christians we want our decisions to line up in obedience to the truth of His word, in submission to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

5 WHY IS PRAYER SO IMPORTANT
Prayer invites Heaven’s influence and brings the supernatural into the earthly realm by opening up a portal for His Kingdom to come Prayer gives us the enabling power and faith to align our choices with His will Prayer allows us to affect the outcome of situations in other people’s lives Other ways to invite Heaven’s influence – His word, Testimonies, meeting together etc.

6 POWER OF AGREEMENT IN PRAYER
Agreement with God Agreement with Others Agreement with Leadership Agreement with our Victories

7 AGREEMENT WITH GOD 1 JOHN 5:14-15 (NIV) “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us − whatever we ask − we know that we have what we asked of Him.”

8 AGREEMENT WITH GOD ROMANS 8:26,27 (NIV)
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

9 AGREEMENT WITH OTHERS MATTHEW 18:19-20 (NIV) “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in Heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Deut 32:30 – Principle of law of increase when 2 or more pray - 1 chasing a 1,000 and 2 putting 10,000 to flight (exponential growth)

10 AGREEMENT WITH OTHERS MATTHEW 18:19-20 (The Message Bible) “Take this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in Heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of Me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.” Need to be very careful or we can pray emotional prayers that are not His best. (1 Samuel Chapter 8) Need to take time to hear from the Lord to understand His will and strategy before coming into agreement.

11 AGREEMENT WITH LEADERSHIP
MATTHEW 8:5-10 (NIV) When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, asking for help, “Lord, he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”

12 AGREEMENT WITH LEADERSHIP
The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

13 AGREEMENT WITH LEADERSHIP
When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those following Him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.” When we pray for our corporate body we need to be in agreement with the heart of Leadership. Our job is to lift them up and support their vision. As Intercessors we can either be their greatest blessing or their biggest headache, especially if we think that we hear from the Lord better than them. We pray from a position of authority and safety when we are under authority and in a place of accountability.

14 AGREEMENT WITH OUR VICTORIES
1 CORINTHIANS 15:57 (NIV) “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
