THROUGH TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION After Transcendental 5 % Meditation Before Transcendental This study measured annual percentage change in inflation-adjusted government payments for physicians' services over 14 years among 1,418 people in Quebec, Canada, who learned the Transcendental Meditation program in comparison to 1,418 controls randomly selected from individuals of the same age, gender, and region. Before learning the Transcendental Meditation program there was no significant difference in annual change between the two groups, with a slightly greater increase among the group that would later begin the program. Research studies using rigorous methods of time series analysis have repeatedly found a measurable influence of reduced turbulence in society and improved quality of life during periods when large groups of participants in the advanced TM-Sidhi program were established. Can possibly mention--The size of the group required to create this influence of orderliness in society is found to be the square root of one per cent of the population. So for a city of one million population, that means a group of at least 100 participants. For a country of 25 million, that means a group of at least 500 participants. Or for a country of 100 million population, the size of the required group is at least 1,000.

29 Improved National Life: Decreased Fatalities

Canada - 2 Weekly fatalities (homicides, suicides, and auto accidents) decreased significantly in the United States and in Canada during periods when the size of a group of participants in the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi program at Maharishi University of Management in the U.S. exceeded the square root of one per cent of the national population.
