Iceland‘s status within European research eInfrastructure RHnet is not a member of EGI, PRACE, EUDAT… but RHnet is an indirect member of Géant/DANTE through Nordunet Icelandic universities and research institutions have participated and lead projects within FP7,6, 5… and will continue to do so in H2020

3. EINFRA-2014-2 (1) – Data management and long time preservation: –Iceland could be a testbed for information shared across disciplines… Patient data (legal environment). Web archiving (libraries) (4) – Large scale virtualisation – avoiding unnecessary data transfer – – Iceland could be a good case for hosting compute intensive resources

4. EINFRA-2014-2 (5) Development and adoption of a standards- based computing platform (open software stack) – –Nordics could make a good case, there is closeness between networking – HPC – Grids – Data - enabling easy coordination. There is probably considerable expertise on open software stacks in universities.

5. ICT call 2014-2 There is very short time until the deadline (23- April, 2014) ICT-07 Advanced cloud –Cloud Security –Coordination and support actions could be good projects for service providers

6. Iceland will not seek to lead a workpackage

Comment on organization One Nordic representative within EGI.eu (egi.nordics) NeIC could play a role of coordinator of one or more projects or for the subset of Nordic partners Participation in consortia by NeIC, national service providers, universities and companies –Unsure if the service agreement with project personnel model will work. Sub-contracting may not work so well within H2020 projects.
