1 ROADMAP 2013-16 STUDENT SYSTEMS THREE MINUTES TO GET ALL THE KEY POINTS

2 Aspirations In 2016 our student systems will deliver……

3 For students access to and ownership of their student record accurate, useful and timely information on programmes, courses and assessment access to complete academic and administrative process support relationships between student and academic and administrative staff services delivered any time, any place and on any (appropriate) device

4 For Academics access to information on their students, tutees, course and programmes in a timely and accurate manner the ability to engage in academic-related processes in a simple and effective manner where data is captured at source system support for the management of effective relationships flexibility so that there are not system constraints on the administration of students

5 For Administrators access to information and the ability to complete key administrative and academic-related processes in a timely, efficient and integrated manner in order to provide effective support to students and to carry out key student and academic related processes with their Schools, Colleges of Professional Service.

6 For Decision Makers provide decision makers and external bodies with timely, accurate, joined-up and trusted information.

7 We have developed key strands of work Priorities and weight of effort will be determined on a rolling basis through Student Systems Strategy Board

8 Assessment Communication of results to students and staff, storage, support for Boards and management of progression. Admissions Clear, intuitive application form and communications. Tools for staff to support quick and accurate decision making. Self Service Student access to their record, key documents and processes any time and on any device. Staff access to key student, course and programme processes where data is captured at source, with automated processes.

9 Enhancing Student Support On-going development of Personal Tutor tools; student engagement; and (potentially) support for postgraduate research students Programme & Course Information Accurate, useful and timely information in a user friendly format to support course selection. Tools to support maintenance, one golden copy for publication in a number of areas. Enquiries Build relationship between university and student, applicant or enquirer. Support distribution of enquiries. Reduce repeat, high volume enquiries.

10 Quality hub Hub that pulls together key student, course and programme information to support key QAA processes. Development of tools to help Schools manage key administrative processes. MI/BI provide decision makers & external bodies with timely, accurate, joined-up and trusted information Compliance Because we have to. Meeting external compliance requirements, while measuring effort taken.
