What are the chances of that happening??!!

2. Mathematical Vocabulary
We can describe the probability or chance of an event happening by saying:
It is IMPOSSIBLE.
It is UNLIKELY.
It is LIKELY.
It is CERTAIN.

3. What is the probability of the following events happening?
You will have your 30th birthday tomorrow.
Your family will win the lottery this weekend.
You will watch television tonight.
You will eat some food today.

4. Can you think of any events which are equally likely to happen?

5. How about…..?
If you toss a coin you have an equal chance of getting a head or a tail.
If a baby is born it has an equal chance of being a boy or a girl.
If you roll a dice you have an equal chance of getting the number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6!
