5.  Understand the serious nature of sin – Isa. 59:1-2; Psa. 51:3-4  Sin is an insult to the holiness of God – I John 1:5-6  Repent and confess our sins – Psa. 51:1-3, 17  Will confess sins when willing to repent & change  Will confess sins when striving to walk in light  Be willing to forgive those who sin against us  Maintain our faith – Luke 22:31-32  Peter would fall to temptation and deny the Lord

6.  Forgive – John 1:7, 9  Cleanse the conscience – Heb. 9:14  Give us strength to press on to the end – Phil. 3:12-14
