3 CIVIL RIGHTS RALLY IN WASHINGTON Martin Luther King Jr. walked in the Civil Rights Rally in Washington At the rally King said “Let Freedom Ring” Even before the March of Washington King would use the phrase “I Have a Dream” but at the March is where the phrase stuck with thousands of people http://www.mlkonline.net/dream.html

4 AT A YOUNG AGE Even at a young age King was good a public speaking He won first place in a speaker’s contest When Martin was a kid the white bus drivers told the black kids they need to sit in the back of the bus. Martin did not like this he thought it was unfair http://myhero.com/

5 “ SIT-IN” MOVEMENT This movement started because black students were being segregated at lunch counters in city stores. Martin Luther King Jr. thought that was wrong.
