Overview OSPI concerns are: Running Start (RS) in high school setting is reported accurately based on enrolled credits over length of time. A student’s combined 1.20 FTE and 1.20 AAFTE are not exceeded.

Changes to Enrollment Reporting for RS in High School Setting Class FTE calculation is based on enrolled credits over length of time. September is a count day for RS in high school setting classes. Formula is: ([enrolled class credits]÷ 15) x (3 ÷ [class’s # of months]). 15 credits equals 1.0 FTE Converts 3 month college quarter class over actual length of class. For example, – a 5 credit class offered over a high school semester would be (5÷15)x(3÷5) = 0.20 FTE. – A 5 credit class offered over a school year would be (5÷15)x(3÷10) = 0.10 FTE.

Examples of A Student’s Combined High School and RS in High Setting EXAMPLE #1: 6 period HS schedule where each class is 57 minutes including allowable passing time. 5 credit RS in high school setting offered over a HS semester.

Examples of A Student’s Combined High School and RS in High Setting - continues EXAMPLE #2: 5 period HS schedule where each class is 72 minutes including allowable passing time. 5 credit RS in high school setting offered over a school year.

Changes to RSEVF and SQEAF RSEVF will be re-worked: – To accommodate the new RS in high school setting FTE formula. – To outline student’s enrollment in multiple colleges. SQEAF may require re-working.

Changes to P223RS and P223 Reporting RS in high school setting enrollment will be reported separately. – P223RS will be revised to accommodate two types of RS enrollment. – P223 screen will have additional fields. – September P223 will be open for RS in high school setting enrollment.

Watch for Upcoming Guidance and Changes RSEVF will be revised and projected to be available mid-May. Reissuance of Memorandum #044-11 (Clarification of RS Programs in the High School) in the form of a bulletin. Update of bulletin regarding 1.20 RS FTE Limitation.
