2. Library User Responsibilities Handle library materials carefully. Safeguard library materials for future users.

3. Always handle library materials with clean, dry hands.

4. Never pull a headcap.

5. Remove a book from the shelf by pushing back the books on either side, so you can grasp it in the middle.

6. Please support book spines and covers when holding books open.

7. Keep work surfaces clean and uncluttered.

8. Please do not “dog ear” a page.

9. Do use bookmarks that are thin, clean, non-acidic, and will not damage or distort bindings.

10. Do not mark or highlight library materials.

11. Do not use post-it notes,

12. paperclips,

13. pressure sensitive tape,

14. or rubber bands on library materials.

15. Never force a book open.

16. Photocopy gently.

17. Do not expose library materials to water, which can cause deformation and staining

18. Please use Rainy Day Bags to protect library materials.

19. If library materials get wet, please return them to the library IMMEDIATELY. Time Matters!

20. Please avoid eating and drinking near library materials. This can attract vermin and insects.

21. If you damage library materials, don’t attempt to repair them yourself. Please return them to the library as soon as possible.
