2 TOURNAMENT RULES ENTRIES CLOSE MONDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2010.
The following rules plus USBC, rules will govern all participants in this tournament. 1. Entrants will use their highest USBC sanctioned league (Yearbook) average (based on 21 or more games). Bowlers with no average will use Winter League average as of 1 Jan 2010 (based on 21 or more games). All others bowl scratch. 10-pin rule has been waived (Rule 319a(2) does not apply in this tournament). Summer averages WILL NOT BE USED. 2. Eligibility: a. Tournament open to all members of Emerald Coast USBC Association. b. Tournament open to all bowlers who are eligible to join a league within the Emerald Coast USBC Association (Association dues of $10.00 must be paid if bowlers are members of other associations). 3. Average verification: a. Bowlers are to read Rule 319a and 319e b. Bowlers are responsible for verifying their averages when the entry is processed. The Entrants whose name appears hereon or their authorized replacements hereby agree that the Valentine Tournament, its Officers and Agents shall be liable only to the extent of returning entry fees if and when these entrants shall be prevented from bowling any event in the Tournament due to premature termination of the Tournament, brought about by war, national emergency, or causes relating to or resulting from fires, strikes, lockouts, labor difficulties or other cause beyond the control of the Valentine Tournament. Prize fund would be paid on a prorated basis of the entrants already bowled at the time of the interruption, and there shall be no further liability of the Valentine Tournament. 5. All protests must be made to the Tournament Manager in writing (See USBC rule 329). 6. Handicap will be based on 90% of 220. Entrants may enter multiple times, but can only win twice (highest positions will be awarded). Combined scores count for placement, but prize money will be paid on an individual basis. EXAMPLE: Joe Bowler uses his Monday Night League Score and Bowls with four (4) different ladies who bowl in different leagues in other bowling centers. Joe would owe $12 entry fee, his partners would owe $3 each. The combined scores are such that Joe would win 1st, 4th, and 7th places. He can only collect for 1st and 4th places. His bowling partner for the 7th place would still be eligible for that place money, unless she had also placed twice with other bowlers higher than 7th place. Entries may be made as late as Monday 8 Feb, but entrants can only select partners who bowl in the same league or leagues that have not been completed at earlier times. 9. LATE ARRIVAL of any player shall follow league rules for late arrival (standard rule is to bowl absentee score if not present by start of 4th frame). 10. Tournament Manager or committee reserves the right to accept or reject any or all entries and will decide all questions or disputes arising in the Tournament and their decisions will be final, subject to appeal to USBC. 11. One cash prize for each seven (7) entries. 12. The tournament committee will design a spread sheet or similar roster for league secretaries to use to post scores after each league. ENTRIES CLOSE MONDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2010. TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE – JIM ALLERHEILIGEN, Chairman Telephone
