1. LIBEREC REGION

2.  Liberec Region is the smallest region in the Czech Republic.  The largest cities:  1) Liberec (100 000)  2) Jablonec (50 000)  3) Česká Lípa (35 000)  Liberec, with its Technical University, is the administrative centre of the region.  It is also an economic, trading, cultural and tourist centre of the region.

3.  Liberec region is predominantly mountainous.  There are Lusatian and Jizera Mountains, the Ještěd group and the western part of Krkonoše (Giant) Mountains.  The climate is cold and rainy; on northern slopes of Bílý Potok area, there is the wettest place in Czechia.  The region is an important reservoir of drink water.

4. JEŠTĚD  Ještěd is a hotel and transmitter on the top of the mountain.  It’s 1012 meters high. Ještěd is 40 years old and cableway is 60 years old.  It was built according to project of the famous Czech architect Karel Hubáček.  Ještěd is going to be added to the list of UNESCO heritage.

5. ECONOMY  Liberec Region is an industrial nature.  There is:  glass industry (hand made),  the production of artificial jewellery,  engineering,  Tourism forms an indispensable part of regional economy.  We’ve got many places for sports activities (especially winter), historical and nature monuments, water reservoirs….

11. Our school has two Parts. Elementary - 1.-5.class (children from 6.-11.years) Secondary - 6.-9.class (12-15-year-old children) We’ve got 17 classes and 23 teachers altogether. We’ve got about 400 pupils.
