All students subscribed in the third year All students subscribed in a transition program All students subscribed in the final year of their preparatory program All students subscribed in the final year of their abridged program Students subscribed in the second year with advanced course units from the third year can not go to China unless –they only have 1 or 2 courses of the 2nd year in the second semester –they hand in a written motivation to dean Luc Geurts, module 8, to explain why they want to go this year and not next year –the dean gives a positive advise

3. Asian Project Who can go to China? On top of the rules on the previous slide......all students wanting to travel to China are obliged to follow the course “New Asian Study”. What is this? See later on today Short description: Some evening sessions (movies, gastronomy,...) in semester 1 Some Chinese language sessions during daytime in semester 2 ILLEGITIMATE ABSCENCE FROM 2 OR MORE OF THESE SESSIONS CAN LEAD TO A “NO-GO”!!! ON THE OTHER HAND, FOLLOWING THESE SESSIONS CAN LEAD TO A CONFUCIUS CLASS CERTIFICATE.

4. Asian Project Is the China trip part of your program? If the answer is YES and you go to China: The subcourse “World Class Engineer Assignment” within this course will be evaluted by means of an assignment related to the trip! So, yes, the trip is part of your program in this case. Warning: Bad/Good behaviour during the trip can have an influence on your mark for this subcourse. But what if I go to China and I don’t take this course? No problemo! But what if I take this course and I don’t go to China? –Alternatives: Germany(BI/CH/EA) – Belgium(all, organised by EM) –Your presence at one of the alternatives is obliged in order to be able to finish the assignment But what if I don’t take this course and I don’t go to China? –We strogly recommend one of the alternatives, but there’s no obligation.
