9 Lab Testing PROCEDURE SOR conducted extensive lab testing, which included ambient temperature testing as well as thermal testing. Parameters analyzed from the lab testing included linearity, hysteresis, repeatability, stability, and temperature effects. Details of the lab testing are summarized below: 70 prototype transmitters tested (10 each of 7 pressure ranges) a 14 temperature profile (with a 1 hour soak at each temperature), with a 21 point linearity test completed for each transmitter at each temperature all 70 transmitters tested calibrated with a 4-20mA output as well as with a 1-5V output

10 Best Fit Straight Line (BFSL)
Lab Testing - PERFORMANCE Best Fit Straight Line (BFSL) As a specification, best-fit straight line linearity is a summarization of the maximum deviation in transmitter output from a straight line drawn as a “best fit” of all of the data points between zero and span.  In other words, “best fit” means minimizing the overall straight-line deviation across the entire output range.
