On 7 February 2006, Malaysia organized a Workshop on Standardization for Building and Construction in ASEAN back-to-back with the 17th WG1 Meeting. The 17th WG1 Meeting discussed the outcomes of the workshop and agreed that standards for structural steel and cement be selected for harmonization.

8 THE TASK FORCE ON BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION (TFBC) TOR. : THE SCOPE & OBJECTIVE of TFBC The objective of the Task Force on Building and Construction is to assist the WG1 in addressing the elimination of technical barriers to trade for materials and products for the building and construction sector.
