"Navruz" is a Persian word meaning "new day". March 21, the day and night equinox, is widely celebrated by the peoples of the East as the New Year, Navruz. It is the beginning of free farming for farmers. Our great thinker Alisher Navoi describes this day as follows:

Alisher Navoi Navruz is a cocktail holiday. On this day, the farmer plows the land, sows the crop, and begins farming. Navruz is a holiday of kindness and humanity. On this day, the graves of the dead are visited, the elderly, the disabled, the lonely elderly, parents are visited, a festive table is set, guests are welcomed, people exchange gifts and prepare sweets. According to the calendar, March, April and May are spring months, but in fact spring in our country begins in February. In spring, the weather changes frequently, and the days get warmer. This allows for the growth of plants and the development of wildlife. On March 21, day and night will be equal. On this day, Navruz has been celebrated in Uzbekistan since ancient times in the east.

Sumalak Our ancestors sewed special clothes for Navruz and wore them to celebrate. Navruz dishes were also unique. Among them, especially sumalak, halim preparation has become a tradition. The participation of children in this celebration was very active. They played various public holiday games on the occasion of Navruz. These include horse games, chillak, puppetry, toshoyin, lapar say, and so on. Children, teenagers were prepared much earlier to take an active part in the sumalak cooking ceremony.

In these processes, various folk games, spring songs were performed. Readings, prizes, competitions in various physical education are organized. Kupkari-ulak, wrestling games, fighting with animals and birds (rooster, dog, ram), clowning, askiyaboz, dor games, various folk performances were held.

Navruz is a holiday of friendship and brotherhood. This day is celebrated not only by the peoples of the East, but by all, regardless of nationality, religion, creed. Navruz is a public holiday in Uzbekistan. He is still solemnly greeted by young and old alike. Navruz is a holiday of friendship and brotherhood.
