2. FEATURES OF THE SCHEME
Guardian to open the account: The account can be opened only by parents or legal guardians for upto two girl children. In case of twins or triplets an exemption will be made
Age Eligibility: A Sukanya Samriddhi account can be opened for a girl child till she attains the age of 10.
Residence: The girl child should be an Indian resident throughout the term of the scheme.
Account in the name of the beneficiary: Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme can only be opened in the name of the girl child.
Account can be closed after completion of 21years. Normal Premature closure will be allowed after completion of 18 years provided that girl is married.

3. Minimum Investment: Rs. 1,000 can be invested in one financial year.
Maximum investment: of Rs. 1,50,000 can be made in one financial year .
Penalty: If the minimum amount of Rs 1000/- is not deposited in any financial year , a penalty of Rs 50/- will be charged.
Where to open Account: Sukanya Samriddhi account can be opened in Post Offices or authorised Banks

4. Documents required for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account:
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account opening application form.
Address proof of depositor: passport, driving license, Ration card, Electricity bill, Telephone bill.
Birth certificate of girl child
Identity proof of depositor: Passport, Ration card, Pan Card, Driving license
