Beth likes Philip Hall. So she tries to get him to like her, but she wins a best cow contest and he won’t talk to her . She thinks he is mad at her, so she finds out that he’s just upset because he didn’t win and they become good friends.

The setting is at Beth’s house on September 3. It is also at a fair.

4. Main Character
Beth is determined because she worked very hard to win the contest . She is also hard working because she did her best in school.

5. My Opinion
I thought the book was OK because it wasn’t very exciting.
