ARC Review Fall 2016 ARC Members, Units to be Reviewed and Reviewers Review Rubric in Qualtrics ARC Training Sessions Summary Review Reports UAC Department Chair/Supervisor Associate Dean/Dean ARC Training Sessions Monday August 29th 2-4pm Wednesday August 31st 8:30-10:30 Wednesday Sept 7th 3-5pm Thursday Sept 8th 3-5pm Monday Sept 12th 8:30-10:30 Wednesday Sept 14th 1-3pm Wednesday Sept 21st 8:30-10:30 Wednesday Sept 21st 1-3pm If you have not already finalized your ARC members and discussed which units will be reviewed with your IA rep, we need to get this done soon. Reviewers will receive an with a unique link to the review rubric in Qualtrics. We have set aside 8 times on our IA calendars for ARC trainings. If you would like to schedule your training during one of these times, let us know. We are working on summary reports of the reviews that will go to the Unit Assessment Coordinator, the department chair or supervisor, the associate dean and dean. We would like your feedback on what information would be useful to each. The Unit Assessment Coordinator would receive a report that looks very similar to the actual review completed – each question and the response selected along with comments. For the remaining groups, they would receive a summary.

7 Sample Summary for Department Chair
Table 1: Number and Percent of Yes Responses by Program Total Yes Possible Yes* % Total Yes Anthropology Foundations 14 21 66.7% Anthropology BA 17 81.0% Anthropology MS 10 47.6% Cultural Resources Management UG Certificate 100.0% Forensic Science UG Certificate 7 50.0% Completely made up data! The department chair can see how all of the programs in the department did overall. Example – Forensic Science UG certificate only got Yes on half of the questions. *Foundations, undergraduate and graduate programs reported on a minimum of three student learning outcomes. Certificates and minors reported on a minimum of two student learning outcomes.

8 Sample Summary for Department Chair
Table 2: Number of No Responses by Program and Section of Report Count of No Responses Actions Taken Results Analysis of Results Actions Planned Total No Q1a Q1b Q2 Q3a Q3b Q4a Q4b Anthropology Foundations 2 1 7 Anthropology BA 4 Anthropology MS 11 Cultural Resources Management UG Certificate Forensic Science UG Certificate Total 3 6 29 This table shows for each program where the No’s were. For Forensic Science, they did well on actions taken and results, but not well on analysis of results and actions planned.

9 Sample Summary for Department Chair
Figure 1: Breakdown of No Responses by Section of Report This figure shows the breakdown of no responses for the department. The previous table showed us that the analysis of results questions had the most No’s and we can see that here too. But when you look at the breakdown of the No’s, we can see that half of it was because the information was missing – the unit just left that section blank. For Associate Deans and Deans, they would receive similar reports but for all units. For all reports, we will include narrative explaining what the tables mean and what should be done with the information. Do you think this would be helpful? Is there other information you think should be included?
