1. Esperanza rising

2. introduction
This is a mystery novel about a girl named Esperanza. She faces many challenges for example her papa died and she had to move to the u.s. and became poor and a worker. the mystery is: Will she rise over all of her challenges or will she fall.

3. grapes
Esperanza and Papa were walking in the grape vineyard when Papa stopped Esperanza and they listened to the earths heart beat.

4. grapes (six years later)
Esperanza was walking in the rose garden when she pricked her finger on a thorn she new it was bad luck but she thought the bad luck was dropping a pan of water or dropping an egg. then Papa was fixing the fence on a far side of the ranch when he did not return. then a few minutes later Alfonso and Miguel brought Papas dead body back to Mama and esperanza.

5. papayas
Things started to change. Tio luis Esperanza unckle was wearing papas belt buckle and sitting in papas chair. Then he started staying for short periods of time then longer periods of time taking the meals. Then tio luis asked mama to marry him so he could get the house but mama said no and tio luis threatened her.

6. figs
Esperanza was sleeping but instead of dreaming of papa singing the birthday song her sleep was filled with nightmares. She was coughing. Until mama woke her up saying “wake up esperanza the house is on fire.” they went to get abulita but her room was EMPTY. When they got outside Miguel was running out with abulita in his hands “he`s on fire”screamed
