4 Pre-AP Poem: “I Am” I Am… What sound(s)?
Use the model to write a poem about yourself. You do not have to begin each line with the words “I am.” For each section, give descriptive words so that the reader can “see,” “hear,” “touch,” “smell,” and “feel” what you are. I also want you to think about all you have learned about similes, metaphors, hyperbole, personification, alliteration, and onomatopoeia. I Am… What sound(s)? __________________________________________________ What animal? What song? What number? What car? Feel free to add any other objects and describe them.

5 I am (Example… first stanza)
I am the sound of thunder and lightning, crashing down in the night sky. I am the roar of lions protecting their cubs from the enemy. I am the whisper of trees blowing in the wind, their leaves rustling all around. I am (Example… fourth stanza) I am the number three. I was born on the third of June, in the third season of the year. I have three kids, and I am three people: facilitator, family member, friend. My symbol is the Trinity, and my symbol is beautiful.
