Schools of Choice (SOC)
All VUSD schools except those with a placement process- Homestead, El Camino, and Pacific Available to students who currently reside in the Ventura Unified School District boundary. The number of School of Choice student seats available at each site is determined by student enrollment.

Schools of Choice Cont. The student selection is done through a random, unbiased process. The process is a lottery, not based on first- come, first-served basis. Submission of SOC application is required for all students including siblings. The “sibling rule” applies to any sibling of a student already in attendance who will attend the desired school during the school year. Multiples including Twins are counted as one entry for lottery- all or none- keep families together

Application To enter the lottery, a family needs to complete and submit the application during the “Schools of Choice” window: January 17-31, 2020 Applications (Elementary/Secondary) available: starting on January 17, 2020 1. Paper applications due no later than 4:00pm on January 31st, 2020
