Brian calls the shelter “home” which shows that he is trying to make the best of the situation (W, T) Brian thinks to himself that things are “bad … but maybe not that bad” (T) Brian thinks he is “rich” when he finds the berries, but then he gets scared away by a bear. (A, T) Brian calms himself down after the bear scare and goes back for more berries (A, T) A porcupine gets into Brian’s home at night and Brian panics, throwing the hatchet.
