2 The Preceptorship Programme aims:
To provide a supportive orientation programme to newly qualified staff. To support individuals within their new role. To consolidate competencies and prior learning. Identify learning objectives and develop action plans with specific timescale. To facilitate reflection, support, teaching and development of clinical competencies. To enable staff to develop personally and professionally. To facilitate the development of professional behaviour. Preceptorship Programme / St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

3 Preceptorship Programme Includes:
Six months programme. A named Preceptor (allocated by your ward manager/ practice educator). A Preceptorship handbook. Regular progress meetings between you and your Preceptor. Guided workshops: time to reflect amongst your peers. Trust Nursing Competencies. Four mandatory study days. Overseas nurses forums: every Wednesday Facebook group

4 Preceptee Study Days: Specifically designed to meet the needs of newly qualified nurses.
Clinical Observations and Medicines Management. Professionalism and Continued Development Building Your Resilience and Communication Skills Harm Free Care & Consolidating Simulation Skills (Acute Adult only)

5 Mandatory Requirements
Return ‘Outcome of Preceptorship Development Programme’ on page 15/16 to Education Centre in order to receive certificate 6 month programme
