This Newsletter is like a mirror which will update the clear picture of all sorts of activities such as articles, conference presentation, public services by this department and faculty members as well. In the very first issue it has compiled the overall activities of the department in 2018. As this department has made great progress in academic and public services we want to share it to all. Support Services Public Services Statistics The Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology has been committed to be an extraordinary role model from its emergence. Besides academic teaching and research, as a part of its pledge to the Public service the department is giving support to the animal owners and farmers for diagnosis of diseases by its diagnostic facilities. In the year 2018, a total of 104 tests (94 animal case) has been carried out by the diagnostic facilities of the department. The pie chart of the cases and tests handled has been illustrated here. Including AMR In Veterinary Curriculum is a Time Demanding Issue- Expert says
OIE SEMINAR ON AMR A day-long seminar for Veterinary Education Establishments on Antimicrobial Resistance Control jointly organized by OIE Regional Representation for Asia and Pacific and Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) was held on 29th January, 2019 in the Central Auditorium of CVASU. A total of 120 participants comprising faculties from different Vet schools of Bangladesh, DLS and FAO delegates, OIE representative and final year DVM and MS students has been actively participated in this seminar. The inaugural session has been chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahmudul Hassan, Head of the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology. Professor Dr. M. Nurul Absar Khan, the acting Vice-Chancellor of CVASU was present as the Chief guest whereas Prof. Md. A. Halim, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, CVASU and Dr. Eric Brum, FAO was present as special guest. The seminar was conducted in two successive technical session where in the first session OIE delegates Dr. Pasang Tshering and Dr. Jing Wang has delivered their talk on Day 1 Competencies & Veterinary Core Curriculum and OIE standards for controlling Antimicrobial Resistance. In the next session DLS delegates, FAO delegates, faculties and students has addressed the importance of inclusion of AMR in Veterinary Education. The participants has also expressed their feelings on the necessity of AMR studies to update their knowledge on Veterinary Education Curriculum. This day long program was co-ordinated in CVASU by Professor Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Alam.

1st EVER DEPARTMENTAL BROCHURE PUBLISHED
The Opening Ceremony of Brochure Publication 1st EVER DEPARTMENTAL BROCHURE PUBLISHED The department has published its 1st ever brochure in 2018 where Professor Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Alam, Head of the department at that tenure was the Editor in Chief. The brochure has tried to compile the biography of distinguished faculties of the department and also featured the research facilities and diagnostic facilities of the laboratories of this department. It has also summarized the information about its postgraduate alumni, the activities taken by the department in the nearby past. The brochure also provided the information about the outreach activities and extension works done by the department. An opening ceremony for the brochure publication announcement was also held where the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of CVASU Professor Dr. Gautam Buddha Das was the Chief guest.
