Check that you have - Certificate of student status - Agreement concerning the Access Rights - Aalto IT account - Discount card for campus restaurants - HSL discount document (public transport) - your own arrival documents to be signed? Remember to register - Finnish Immigration Office or - Local Register Office (to receive a Finnish ID-number) - Course registration in WebOodi - Register your HSL card for getting access in Väre building - Meetings with study coordinators and/or teaching staff

Registering the Right of Residence:
Non-EU/EEA citizens If you stay for more than 3 months -> you need a residence permit Staying less than 90 days -> you might need a visa In case of further questions: please contact OR visit Immigration Service point: Käenkuja 3 A, Helsinki, Open: Monday – Friday, EU/EEA citizens You do not need a residence permit You need to register your stay, if you are staying for more than 90 days (Finnish Immigration Service, enterfinland.fi and a personal visit)

Planning your studies You are asked to plan and report your studies with: - Learning Agreement (Erasmus) - Study Plan (bilateral, Asia exchange, etc.) The Study Coordinator (or Planning Officer) of the programme will guide you with practical questions related to studies, schedules and choosing courses Study Coordinators sign your Learning Agreements Degree programmes have tutoring teachers who guide you with academic questions Please visit your Study Coordinator for more information and/or take part in the possible joint session of your programme!

Choosing Courses You should mainly choose courses from the programme you have been selected to (check the Into site of your programme) You can also choose courses from Centre for General Studies (YoYo) University Wide Art Studies (UWAS) language courses, especially Finnish courses are recommended! Aalto courses available to all students in Aalto University (Cross-school courses) Updated information about each course is to be found in Weboodi (oodi.aalto.fi). Follow for latest updates! Contact your Study Coordinator for more info!

Language of instruction
Languages of instruction are Finnish and English Even if the language of the course is Finnish, there is often a possibility to complete the course in English, in case it’s a workshop or other type of practical work contact the responsible teacher or the study coordinator to find out
