GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
To graduate, students work towards the graduation requirement of 80 credits: 48 credits Accumulated from required courses + 4 credits Accumulated from the mandatory Career Education and Capstone program. + 4 credits Accumulated from at least one Grade 10, 11 or 12 fine arts or applied design, skills & technology course +24 credits Accumulated from elective courses. =80 credits

Required Courses: Two Career Education courses (total 8 credits)
Physical Health and Education 10 (4 credits) Science 10 (4 credits) A Science 11 or 12 (4 credits) Social Studies 10 (4 credits) A Social Studies 11 or 12 (4 credits) A Math 10 (4) A Math 11 or 12 (4 credits) A Language Arts 10, 11 & 12 (12 credits) Arts Education 10, 11, or 12 or Applied Design, Skills & Technologies 10, 11, or 12 (4 credits)

To graduate, students must have:
a minimum of 16 credits at the Grade 12 level (Four courses including English Studies 12) a minimum of 80 credits, made up of required and elective courses. French Immersion and Francophone students must take Francais through to Grade 12 and a minimum of 4 courses in French (16 credits) at the Grades 10, 11 & 12 levels. NOTE: Many post-secondary institutions require a fifth Grade 12 level course.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Credit checks with your counsellor to ensure all graduation requirements are met Transcript Verification Reports from the BC Ministry of Education (available at a Nov meeting) Research post-secondary opportunities and criteria for admission Research scholarship/bursary award opportunities

Scholarship/Bursary Awards Information
Opportunities for students to receive Awards money from the following: BC Ministry of Education Provincial Awards Program District Awards Program - Application process begins in January School Awards Program - Application process begins January **Detailed Awards information above will be provided at our future grade 12 meetings and will be updated regularly on our DPSS Website.

VALEDICTORY CELEBRATION Civic Centre Thursday, June 4th, 2020
11:00 am Students arrive dressed in gowns, stoles and hats 11:30 am Group photo – back Civic Centre 12:00 noon Doors open for seating 1 pm – 3 pm Valedictory Ceremony (Informal Mix & Mingle after ceremony – desserts, tea, coffee served)

Valedictory Celebration Fees
Grad fee of $ includes: Cost of the grad gown, stole, cap & tassel 8 tickets for family and friends to attend Valedictory Ceremony at the Civic Centre. Waitlist for additional tickets Informal Mix & Mingle after the ceremony (Dessert, tea & coffee served)

Upcoming Grad Events & Reminders
WD West Studios are scheduling appointments for Grad Photos at noon the week of (Oct 28th – Nov 1st) in front of Library. Photo appointments will begin the following week starting Nov 4th. Students are reminded to complete and hand in the Intent to Participate in the Valedictory Celebration Form & Baby Photo so we can start planning. Students are reminded to begin completing their Career Life Connections 12 booklets. Grad Fashion Show scheduled for Wed, Nov 21st. We will be asking for parent volunteers to sell tickets at the door, help in the Concession and organize our Silent Auction that evening. Proceeds from the Fashion Show are divided between the Valedictory Ceremony and Dry Grad Committees. Please sign up to help.
