2 Step Strategy Current Technology Level
The U.S. and South Korea require 15 mandatory elements and 30 optional elements to be recorded. The manufacturer voluntarily records more elements than the regulation for accident analysis. Recently, the trend is to record items related to advanced safety functions(FCW, FCA, LDW, LKA, ACC, SAF etc) 1st Step(until 2020, November) Add new items to useful with accident analysis in "US PART 563” This is the over view in Korea. Korea introduced the EDR regulation in 2015 and Early Warning Report regulation in If automobile manufactures investigated the accident which are crash or burning whatever they have to submit the investigation report with EDR data to KATRI. These data is reported average over 100 a month and KATRI review the reliability of EDR data over 20 copies a month. Mandatory 22 elements(15+7), Optional 36 elements(30+6) The manufacturer voluntarily records more elements than the regulation for accident analysis.
