Summary: The Foot Resolution Hayne Calls Out Northeasterners Webster Steps In and They Go Back and Forth Outcome/Resolution: Nullification Crisis Problems between North and South Analysis: How does this deal with sectionalism? Most definitely was a sectional issue. Hayne and Webster represent a greater separation in nation. Direct opposition of federal power would collapse the Union. How does this represent Federal vs. State power? Webster Hayne Debate outlined Federal v. State Power, by outlining the boundaries invloving states rights Webster- (From New England, North) Advocate for a strong federal government, opposed nullification Hayne- (Rep. from South, from South Carolina pushed for the expansion of state powers, that they have the right to null and void laws Overall distenction between political belief regarding power led to Nullification Crisis, and overall tensions to grow between the North and South Daniel Webster Robert Y.
