1. Does Jesus understand my struggles?
Is it possible for Jesus to understand our struggles? After all, although He was human, He was God in the flesh. The Bible answer is a resounding, “Yes.” Jesus understands your struggles – all of them. And He can help you with them.

2. Hebrews 2:17-18
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”

3. Jesus is like us “in all things”
He suffered, being tempted
He was tempted to sin (Matthew 4; James 1:13-14)
He was tested and tried
Disparaged by loved ones (Mark 3:21)
Persecuted by neighbors (Luke 4:28-29)
Disappointed by disciples (Matt. 26:37-75)
Jesus was a “man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” (Isaiah 53:3)

4. Jesus is like us “in all things”
He did not live a life of privilege
Jesus was a lowly commoner in his day (Matthew 8:20)
He did not have an attractive appearance (Isaiah 53:2-3)
He did not have a formal education from a prestigious school (John 7:15)

5. He is “touched with the feeling of our infirmities” (KJV)
Hebrews 4:15
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
He is “touched with the feeling of our infirmities” (KJV)

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
