3 WHAT IS THE DAC? The purpose of the DAC is to enhance communication between the superintendent, district staff, community and the local schools. Each Area Chair belongs to the District Advisory Council (DAC). The Superintendent (or the designee) is a voting member of the DAC and provides updates to AAC Chairs to disseminate information back the AACs and SACs. School Board members are invited to the DAC meetings to provide updates and answer questions. Specific district staff also attends the DAC meetings to give updates and answer questions.

4 WHO IS A PART OF THE DAC? DAC
Area Advisory Council Chairs (or designee) Superintendent (or designee) DAC The DAC should vote on a Chair, a Vice-Chair, and a Secretary and review the roles of each officer in the DAC by-laws.

5 District Advisory Council
WHAT DOES THE DAC DO? District Advisory Council Provide Public Voice Develop Initiatives Provide Recommendations Post notice of meetings (date, time, place, and topics) and prepare minutes of the meeting. Initiate activities or programs that generate greater cooperation between the community and the school. Recommend various support services and resources in the community. Share Updates Adopt By-laws Problem-Solving Each school will have the opportunity to share updates and/celebrations Each district advisory council shall adopt bylaws establishing procedures. The DAC is meant to discuss barriers and provide solutions for each Area.

6 WHEN DOES THE DAC MEET? DAC meets monthly
AAC Chairs, Superintendent, Board Members, and Staff members attend Open to public

School Advisory Council at the school level – Meets Monthly AAC Area Advisory Council at the feeder pattern level – Meets Quarterly DAC District Advisory Council at the District Level – Meets Monthly Communication and Problem Solving SAC Chair and Principal attend AAC Chair or designee attend
