5. Hos 1:1-5 The word of the Lord came to Hosea during the reign of the last king of Israel. The Lord said to Hosea, “Go, marry and adulterous wife and have children who show her unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the Lord.”
So he married Gomer, daughter of Diblaim, and she bore him a son. But the Lord said, “Call him Jezreel, because I am going to punish the house of Jehu for the massacre of Jezreel, and put an end to the kingdom of Israel. That day I will break Israel’s bow in the Valley of Jezreel.”
