2 IT governance has barely changed since the 1970s
Generic Computing Early admin systems However, the way the University makes decisions about the services it needs hasn’t really evolved since the 1970s when we had a couple of computing and administration systems

Research Admin Business Systems Student Admin Teaching & Learning Infrastructure Wouldn’t it be nice if these services and projects were more ordered? This has been made possible by the introduction of six portfolios.

6 The IT landscape is now divided into six portfolios
Research & Collections Owned by the PVC for Research Research Admin Owned by the PVC for Research Business Systems Owned by The Registrary Student Admin Owned by the PVC for Education Teaching and Learning Owned by the PVC for Education Infrastructure owned by the UIS director There needs to be a better way of linking the IT that we provide directly to the University’s goals across teaching, research and administration ISC fully supports. 6 IT portfolios, each owned by a senior member of the University. The owners will decide the IT priorities within their portfolios and oversee the work at a very high level. The exception is infrastructure which UIS owns. Infrastructure is which is the platform for IT at Cambridge Schools and colleges use the systems and services.
