Before You Start Copy the Lessons/Lesson 14/ folder onto your hard drive or other media for use in the lesson As you work you will overwrite the start files. If you need to restore the start files, copy them from the Adobe GoLive 6.0 Classroom in a Book CD. Note: Windows users need to unlock the files before using them. (see page 3 of the text) Copyright 2006 William Hull

6 About GoLive Site Management
For full advantage of the Golive site building and management tools, always use GoLive to create or import a site and to add, remove, or rename files. If files are imported from the desktop, you will need to refresh or update the site when you next open GoLive. (see pg ) Remember all images used in the slides are using GoLive CS, not 6.0; for GoLive 6.0 images check the textbook. Copyright 2006 William Hull

Getting Started Open the gage.site file in Lessons/Lesson14/14End/ to see what your finished site should look like. Gage site window, showing files and folder structure and the pane containing Extras, Errors, Publish Server, And Collections tabs. This is different than GoLive 6.0 which shows Extras, Errors, FTP, and WebDav tabs Copyright 2006 William Hull

8 Importing Sites From Remote Servers
Using the site wizard, you can create Golive sites based on other sites imported from FTP or HTTP servers To import sites from a remote server, you must create a single user site rather than a workgroup site and download the files to your local hard disk. Then you can use the Import from Site option in the site wizard or choose Site>Workgroup>Convert to Workgroup Site to import the site into a new workgroup site. Copyright 2006 William Hull
