Theme: Overcoming Our Industry Challenges with Lean Solutions Tracks: Overcoming Challenges for Owners Overcoming Design and Planning Challenges Overcoming Challenges in the Field Overcoming the Waste around People and Behaviors This year's theme is Overcoming Our Industry Challenges with Lean Solutions and the four tracks listed below will steer the attendees to the sessions that matter most to their Lean journey. Overcoming Challenges for Owners Owners often face challenges that lead to dissatisfaction with a project's cost, schedule and quality. Follow this track to explore Lean approaches owners can implement to overcome various project challenges and increase satisfaction. Overcoming Design and Planning Challenges Architects, engineers, and pre-construction professionals can leverage Lean in the planning and design phase to overcome their unique challenges. This track will guide attendees to tangible takeaways for applying Lean methods from pre-construction planning through to the end of the project life cycle. Overcoming Challenges in the Field Foremen, superintendents and field workers face common challenges on the job site that can be improved with a Lean culture. Follow this track to explore specific Lean processes that improve team communication in the field and establish reliable workflow. Overcoming the Waste around People and Behaviors The key to a Lean culture is empowering teams to overcome the waste they see in their own work and behaviors. This track will lead attendees to specific Lean processes and techniques they can use to foster a Lean culture that identifies and eliminates waste around people and behaviors.

Greg McKeown Closer confirmed (Thursday afternoon) Isaac Lidsky Thursday morning – 3 Owner keynotes Mike Staun, Associate Director, Global Capital Management (retired): P&G’s Lean IPD Journey Pharmaceutical George Cusick, Executive Director, Merck Local Owner presence: Stan Davis, COO, Cook Children’s Medical Center Greg McKeown New York Times best-selling author Greg McKeown will bring the message of his latest book, "Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less" along with his experience as the founder of McKeown, Inc., to enlighten audiences from around the world including the Annual Conference of the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland. The McKeown, Inc. is a company with a mission to teach Essentialism to millions of people around the world and clients such as Adobe, Apple, Google, Facebook, Pixar, Twitter, VMware and Yahoo! Isaac Lidsky Throughout his extensive career, which started as a child television star playing Weasel on NBC’s “Saved By The Bell: The New Class,” Isaac Lidsky made a name for himself as a U.S. Justice Department lawyer who never lost a case, a co-founder of an internet startup, and an entrepreneurial disrupter in the construction industry. By age 25, he became entirely blind after a retina degenerative disease diagnosis at age 13. Now at age 39, Isaac’s message in his new book “Eyes Wide Open,” his message is one of empowering people to challenge ourselves to dream big and to not let external circumstances and perceptions hinder your achievements. Mike Staun Our own Mike Staun recently spoke at the North American Ironworkers IMPACT conference in Las Vegas. He will bring P&G’s Lean IPD Journey story to Congress. Victor Sanvido is looking to bring a local Owner (Cook’s Children’s Medical Center) and perhaps an Owner from the Pharma industry.
