3. Polar vs. Nonpolar REMEMBER –
Nonpolar covalent compounds share electrons EVENLY, and molecules of covalent compounds will therefore break apart more easily.
In Polar covalent compounds, one atom attracts the electrons more strongly than the others. Results in stronger bonding between molecules due to partial charges.
