2 The Lord Is My Shepherd The Lord is my shepherd and I want to follow Wherever he leads me, wherever he goes. Over the mountains, the waters and byways, Valleys and highways, he’s waiting for me. I want to go to meet him there, to lay myself down in his love.

3 The Lord Is My Shepherd And while on the journey to where we are going, He promised to be there to help us along. And over the mountains we’ll walk on together, to know all the wonders he’s given to me. I want to go to meet him there, to lay myself down in his love. The Lord is my shepherd and I want to follow Wherever he leads me, wherever he goes.

9 Prayer of Consecration to the Holy Spirit
This prayer was composed in 1993 alongside a renewed pastoral plan for the diocese. It was prayed in all parishes on Pentecost Sunday of that year.

10 Prayer of Consecration
We, the diocese of Palmerston North, different peoples, one people of God, give ourselves over to you Holy Spirit of God. R/ Holy Spirit, make us a holy people.

11 Prayer of Consecration
Through you we know God intimately for you are the Spirit of God. You inspire the scriptures which show us that God is like a loving, trustworthy father; a mother who tenderly gathers her children. You give us joy in the news of our salvation; Through you we belong to Christ. R/ Holy Spirit dwell within us.

12 Prayer of Consecration
Keep us true to our Catholic and apostolic faith, in union with Catholics throughout the world. Bless our Pope with your gifts of leadership. Bless him also with the gift of our loyalty. R/ Holy Spirit, give us strength and joy in the name Catholic.

13 Prayer of Consecration
We commend to you those who are experiencing special needs or sorrows; those waiting to be born and those waiting to die; those whom we have hurt and those who have hurt us. R/ Holy Spirit, inspire in us a love that is compassionate, forgiving and practical.

14 Prayer of Consecration
We consecrate to you our young people. Help them to see the link between loving life and loving Jesus who came to give us abundant life. R/ Pour out on them your gifts of wonder and wisdom, prudence and fortitude.

15 Prayer of Consecration
We pray for families and single people; for religious sisters and brothers, for our priests and bishops. Inspire many more young people to ways of serving and leadership in the Church and in the world. R/ Help each of us to show faithful love.

16 Prayer of Consecration
Jesus prayed for unity among his followers, so that the world might believe in him. R/ Holy Spirit, unite us to the prayer of Jesus.

17 Prayer of Consecration
We pray for the world and all its peoples. We recommit ourselves to work for justice and peace. Help us to create a society which respects the dignity of every person and everyone’s environment. R/ Holy Spirit, make us signs and instruments of your grace in the world.

18 Prayer of Consecration
Holy Spirit, free us from the illusion of self-sufficiency, from falsehoods of every kind, and from all our fears. Call us beyond the limits of apathy, mediocrity and routine. Work in our midst the miracles that happen for those who trust you totally: miracles of conversion, healing and reconciliation; of new hope, new life and new beginnings. R/ Create in us a new heart, and we shall be re-created.

19 Prayer of Consecration
On the first Pentecost your coming transformed the timid disciples of Jesus into people who wanted to tell the world about him. As we consecrate ourselves to you again we ask you to transform us too. R/ Holy Spirit, reveal through us the saving power of God’s love.

20 Prayer of Consecration
We pray together: Glory be to the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit. as it was is now and shall be forever. Amen.
