2 Lies that assault our identity in Christ
“I Have to Be Stronger” “This Is Just the Way I Am” “I’m Not Good Enough”

3 Lie #4 I Am What I Do

4 Philippians 3:4–6 (NIV) “If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.”

5 But in a letter to his friend Timothy, Paul called himself “the worst of sinners.” (1 Timothy 1:16, NIV)

6 How do we determine our worth?

7 How do we determine our worth?
Psalm 139:13–14 (NIV) “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” The first truth that answers the lie… God made you!

8 How do we determine our worth?
The second truth that answers the lie… God sent Jesus to rescue us! Philippians 3:8–9 (NIV) “What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.”

9 Received, not achieved

10 Received, not achieved Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
“For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” What we do doesn’t define who we are What we do is a result of who we are

11 Is our appraisal authentic?

12 Is our appraisal authentic?
2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT) “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” God made sure we can say,  “I am righteous. I am perfect. I am priceless!”

13 If you haven’t received Jesus forgiveness by faith…I implore you to do so today
If you are in Christ, you are God’s unique, deeply loved creation, made righteous, perfect, and priceless through faith in Him
