Profane - religiously related unwholesome speech Obscene - sexually related unwholesome speech Vulgar - elimination related unwholesome speech Utilizing something God made holy and making it common Uttering a curse upon something - Matt. 5:22 Using God's name in vain - Exo. 20:7

Where Do Euphemisms Fit In So where do euphemisms fit in this doctrine? What are they? A euphemism is using a word that doesn't sound as bad as the one that most consider offensive, but the meaning of the word is the same “Off color,” or “colorful language” do you understand it means dirty jokes and cursing? “Had a little too much,” do you understand it means drunk? “The latest,” do you understand it means gossip? “Risqué,” do you understand it means immodest? “Gay” do you understand it means homosexual? “Affair,” or “fling,” do you understand it means adultery? “Fib,” or “stretching the truth,” do you understand it means a lie? “Living together,” or “in a relationship” do you understand it means fornication? * According to Miriam-Webster Dictionary Dang, darn - damn* Heck - hell* Gosh, golly - God* Jeez, gee - Jesus* Cripes, criminy - Christ*

God's Standard For Christian Speech The standards of God much different than the world - Isa. 55:8-9 What standards do you have in speech? God despises a perverse mouth - Prov. 4:24; 8:13; 15:28 How do you speak when you are not in church services? Do you cringe when you hear the filthy language used on television? Would you be embarrassed to use those words in front of your grandmother or mother?

God's Plan of Salvation GOD'S PART The great love of God for man (Jn 3:16) He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Saviour (Lk 19:10) Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (Jn 16:13) Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation (Rom 1:16) Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Rom 5:9) MAN'S PART Hear the Gospel (Rom 10:17, Jn 8:32) Believe the Gospel (Heb 11:6, Jn 20:31) Repent of past sins (Lk 13:3, Acts 17:30) Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Rom 10:10, Matt 10:32) Be Baptized (Gal 3:27, Mk 16:16, Acts 2:38) Be faithful unto death (Rev 2:10) God has done His part. Have you done yours?
