2 P07008 Project Description Automate the process of assembling nozzle to wash bottle Key Customers Needs: Can accommodate different size bottles ( 250 ml, 500 ml, 1lt) Should be able to produce large quantities of assemblies (min life of 120,000 cycles) Should require minimal force to complete assembly (less than 25 lb) Should create good assemblies The unit should not create additional disabilities for the operators Process improvement of wash bottle line

15 P07008 High Risk Assessment Risk: Main component of assembly is hard to manufacture. Tight tolerances Intricate shape Proposed Mitigation Divide main component into various parts if machining is out of specs.

17 P07008 Current State of Design
Design meets customer needs and engineering specs 6 cases of different size bottles can be assembled with an expected average cycle time not exceeding 10 seconds No intervention between the operator and the machine while actual assembly Force required to complete assembly by operator is less than the minimal force required (25 lb) to complete assembly manually for a bottle. Actual force will be approximately 2 ounces Better material flow  savings in time and distance traveled Budget Review Budget = $ Projected Cost = $ Mitigation of no compliance Better ergonomic manual tool

18 MSD II Project Schedule
Have machine built and tested by early April Have all the documentation completed by mid-April Have process improvements completed by mid-April Complete technical paper and poster by first week of May
