NERVE AGENTS – GA,GB,GD,GF,VX. BLOOD AGENTS - AC,CK,SA. BLISTER AGENTS - HD,HN-1,HN-2,HN-3,CX,L,HL,PD,ED,MD. VOMITING AGENTS- DA,DM,DC.

2 CHOKING AGENTS CG and DP Rate is immediate up to 3 hours.
Damages lungs and causes pulmonary edema( dry land drowning). Decon with ammonia and aeration in closed spaces Protection required: Pro-Mask. Used as a delayed reaction agent

3 NERVE AGENTS GA,GB(Sarin),GD,VX. Rate is very rapid.
Cessation of breath, DEATH may follow. Decon with DS2, slurry mix, M291. Protection required: Pro-Mask, MOPP IV. Used as a quick acting causality agent. Detect with M-22 ACADA, ICAM,M256A1, M8 and M9 paper.

4 BLOOD AGENTS AC,CK And SA.
Rate is very rapid on AC and CK, 2 hrs to 11 days on SA. Damages blood, liver and kidneys. Interferes with O2 use in body tissue. Protection required: Pro-Mask. Used a quick action causality agent.

5 BLISTER AGENTS HD,HN-1,HN-2,HN-3(mustards),CX,L,HL,PD,ED, AND MD.
Rate is immediate up to days. Destroys tissue, causes blisters, Bronchopneumonia, irritates eyes and respiratory tract. Protection required: Pro-Mask, MOPP IV. Decon with bleach, fire,DS2, M291. Detect with M22(L and HD) ICAM(HD and HN-3), M256A1. Used as a delayed action casualty agent. (CX rapid)

6 Vomiting agents DA,DM and DC. Rate is very rapid. Cold like symptoms.
Protection required: Pro-Mask. Used a a riot control agent.

7 PERSISNTANT/NONPERSISTANT
Persistent agents are usually in liquid form and stay in the area for long periods of time. Non-persistent are gases or vapors and evaporate quickly. Persistent agents may be used to make areas non-passable, ie. Roads, valley’s, bridges or passes. Non-persistent agents may be used on the battle field prior to an attack to weaken and confuse the enemy. In some cases non-persistent may be used by terrorists. Examples of persistent agents are Blister and V series nerve agents. Examples of non-persistent agents are blood agents, choking agents and G series nerve.
