Subterranean termites are social insects
Bacteria and protozoan symbionts found in the termite gut are necessary to digest cellulose
Termite colonies contain distinct individuals known as castes that have separate functions in the colony

They are maintained in colonies by chemical signals or pheromones
Subterranean termites have gradual metamorphosis with three life stages: egg, nymph and adult

7. Termidor® The Transfer Effect – Fipronil
After contacting Termidor ® treated material with its body or via oral uptake - the termite becomes a ‘carrier’.
Every other termite it contacts will be infected.
Termidor ® works slowly, letting termites contact many others before dying themselves.
The efficacy on individual termites is intentionally slow, but the overall colony management significantly faster than bait systems.

17. Post-construction Perimeter treatment
Dig a 30cm wide trench around exterior perimeter of the foundation down to the top of the footing
Apply 5 lit of Termidor SC solution per linear meter of the trench- treating both sides and bottom together with the backfill

If necessary the trench depth may be extended by rodding down to the foundation footing at intervals of 20 cm apart.
This is done using a rodding extension to the injector and forcing the injector tip into the soil (while injecting termiticide) to the top of the footing
