4 Reproducing Social Contact on a large scale & closing the knowledge gap
Working in Partnership to target specific communities Activities included: Coffee mornings Physical Activities/ Run’s Workshops in Schools Games/ Art/ Quizzes Elephants On the street engagement Taking into account for all of the engagement facilitated across the County there were around 25 Events involving 40 Champions and approximately 400 examples of social contact (that we know of).

5 Time To Talk Day Discussions
Young people and adults spoke openly about their experience of poor mental health and talked about times where they have challenged stigma and discrimination on behalf of themselves or others including friends and family. During the public engagement activities there were some examples of stigma during conversations including: “It’s all in the mind, it’s what you make of it, if you think negatively you will be negative.”

6 Time To Talk Day Discussions Addressing the Elephant in the Room
In Barnard Castle many people avoided the ‘Elephant in the room’ showing that people are uncomfortable initiating a conversation about something outside of their comfort zone. The Elephant did have a positive impact with businesses asking for the Elephant to visit their stores and Hay’s Travel put photos and messages supporting the Time To Talk campaign on their Social Media Sites.

7 Time To Talk Day Discussions
Durham County Carers had new Carers attend their event and sign up for their service. Stamp It Out have since been approached asking for anti-stigma parcels to play pass the parcel with. “It’s all in the mind, it’s what you make of it, if you think negatively you will be negative.”
