Which do you have more of, things you like or things you don’t like to do? Why do you think that is?
What things that you love to do are you good at?
Why is it important to know what you like and dislike doing?
Why is it important to know what you are good at doing?
Why is it important to be enthusiastic about what you do?
What jobs or careers might match what you love to do?

8. Targeting Life Skills
Who can give me an example of a skill they have learned in 4-H? How did you learn it?
Who can think of a skill that they think will help them in the future?
What skills do you think you want to work on over the next year?

9. Who Can Help Me? What career would we like to explore?
What resources are available to help us explore this career?
How can those resources help?
How can we access these resources and when?
How can we help youth connect their career interests to 4-H?

10. Name that Career
The youth must try to correctly identify the career name using inquiry to identify the career.
The facilitator may provide a list of possible questions to help identify the career and further exploration of the career.
The facilitator should be prepared with facilitation questions
In today’s training let’s consider the potential careers that could be used for this activity when done with youth?

11. 4-H Learning Experience
Using knowledge gained, in groups plan a 4-H learning experience that includes a career readiness component.
