To increase awareness of unique problems, issues and concerns of the stakeholders in the public rights-of-way, to develop policies and guidelines, and to identify best practices where appropriate

The Board has approved the Professional Right of Way Manager of the Year Award to provide recognition for excellence and dedication in career service achievements by Right of Way professionals in the Public Works field.

14 OUTREACH TO LOCAL CHAPTERS
The Committee is working on a business plan to provide outreach and support to Local Chapters of APWA. Committee members participate in “capstone” internship programs

15 Coordination with common interest groups
Provides a liaison to the Common Ground Alliance Hosts a One Call Systems International Subcommittee

16 How can I serve on the UPROW Committee?

17 A call for nominations is announced on the APWA web site and through the APWA Reporter in late winter or early spring each year.

18 Nominations to the UPROW Committee can be made by:
Self Nomination Nomination from a Chapter Nomination from another APWA member Nomination from an APWA Board member or Delegate

19 What is required to be a Committee member?
A strong background in Right of Way and Utilities issues The ability to participate in a one hour conference call each month The ability to attend APWA Congress each year The ability to participate in the Combined Technical meeting each Spring The willingness to write articles and provide program ideas for Congress

20 How can I find out what the committee is doing?

21 Find out what the Committee is doing by going to the UPROW pages on the APWA website. At look under Technical Committees, and choose Utilities and Public Right of Way

22 What will I find there? Meeting summaries from each month’s conference call A committee roster with names of members and their contact information Newsletter Projects The current business plan
