1. Solidifies or sets irrevocably when heated.
1. Softens when exposed to heat and yields to original state at room temperature.
2. The molecules of these plastics are cross linked in three dimensions and this is why they cannot be redesigned or recycled.

3. They are useful for their durability and strength.

4. Used predominantly in automobiles and construction applications. Other uses include adhesives, inks, and coatings.
