IS Progression to MS Independence
In 5th grade, your child traveled with their homeroom switching teachers for each core subject area, in addition to their encore classes. In Middle School, your child will follow his/her individual schedule, switching classes independently. Incorporated into that independence: Remediation and Enrichment: 3 times per cycle students will have a remediation/enrichment period to assist with the skills that they are currently working on in class. Lockers and Hallways: Each student will have their own locker and will choose when they utilize it. Students do not walk with their classes to their next class. Lunch: All 6th graders eat from 11:41-12:11. Students are permitted to sit wherever they’d like and they share the cafeteria with a portion of the 8th Grade. Mr. Schumacher is in the cafeteria daily to assist with Middle School transition.
