2 What is a Carer? [1] Cares (unpaid) care for family or friends who have a disability, illness or who need support in later life: Washing bodies. And laundry. And dishes. Keeping appointments. And records. And tempers. Giving medicine. And time. And hugs. Filling forms. And fridges. And silences. Dealing with doctors. And nurses. And pharmacists. And social workers. And benefits agencies. What is a Young Carer? Young carers are young people (under the age of 18 years old), who regularly care for or help to look after a family member who is ill, elderly, has a mental health or misuses drugs or alcohol. facebook.com/carerstrustsew @carerstrustsew

4 Carers can be any age and anyone, it could be;

5 Are you a Carer? Do you help with the following;

6 If you are a carer, or know a carer of any age, support is out there;

7 Ensure the support available is working for you.
The Social Services and Well-being Act (2014) states - Carers of all ages are entitled to a Carers Needs Assessment in their own right.
