5. Defining Discipleship
Pastor Rick Warren defines discipleship as, “The process of becoming like Christ; it always begins with a decision.”

6. What is a Disciple?
The New Testament meaning of a disciple is a pupil or learner.
As Jesus tells us, "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher” (Luke 6:40). The goal of being a disciple is to be like Jesus Christ. A Disciple is a person committed to loving, following, and serving Jesus Christ in every sphere of life.

Since 1990 the number of men attending church has decreased from 43% to 28%.
Since 1991 the number of men born again has not changed.
Only half of men who are born again attend church on a regular basis.

8. Only 1 in 7 men are involved in ongoing discipleship or spiritual formation.

A disciple is one who is called to walk with Christ, equipped to live like Christ, and sent to work for Christ.
