3 On-Campus Employment 10 points
If a student works at the Admissions Office at UT, is that considered on-campus employment? Yes. This employment is considered on-campus. It is performed on the school’s premises, and directly supports the student body at UT.

4 On-Campus Employment 20 points
If a student works at Barnes & Noble at UT, is that considered on-campus employment? No. Employment with independent companies operating on campus is not considered on-campus employment.

5 On-Campus Employment 30 points
What is the maximum number of hours per week that an F-1 international student can work on campus when school is in session? 20 hours per week

6 On-Campus Employment 40 points
Douglas is an international F-1 student who is looking for an on-campus job. He checks Hire-UT and sees that there is a vacancy for a Federal Work/Study position on campus. Is he eligible to apply? Explain your answer No. F-1 students are not eligible for Federal Work/Study position on campus

Sandra has been studying at UT for three semesters, but due to an issue with plagiarism, she was put on academic probation and lost her scholarship. A friend of hers told her about working on campus, so that she can make some money to continue studying. Is Sandra allowed to work on campus? Explain your answer. No. Only F-1 students in good academic standing are allowed to work on campus

It is an employment option available to F-1 students. It stands for Curricular Practical Training

9 CPT – 20 Points How many types of CPT are there and what are they?
Type 1 – Internship as required part of a degree program Type 2 – Internship as an optional part of a degree program

10 CPT – 30 Points If a student has been enrolled at UT for one academic year, but half that time was part-time, is he or she eligible for CPT? Explain your answer No. In order to be eligible, a student must have been enrolled full-time for at least one academic year

11 CPT – 40 Points CPT internship for course credit is allowed full-time for students during fall and spring semesters. True or False? Explain your answer False. During fall and spring semesters, both types of CPT are only allowed part-time.

12 CPT – 50 Points Maria has been an intern with a firm as part of her CPT for the entire fall semester. They really like Maria, and would like to renew her contract for the spring as well. Is that possible? Explain your answer CPT authorization is not renewable. If Maria would like to participate in another CPT internship, she must obtain a new CPT authorization *Answer can vary depending on each student’s individual case
