Consistency of Plans Good Morning Everyone, For those who don’t know me I am Hector Mendoza Sr. PM for DPW Design. My Segment is about Consistency of Plans.

Schedule of Quantities by Street (Spreadsheet) Typical Sections Pavement Core Report Curb Ramp Details with Elevations Plan Sheet Drafting Standards on City Website

3 Title Page Title Page: a couple of things. -Location Map:
show only Project Location, it will be a lot easier to read at a glance, Less is more. Indiana 811 logo show be on every sheet.

4 Index Page Legend: Show all symbols and Callouts that are used in the set of plans. Index: Make sure all Sheet Name and Sheet Numbers are matching the plans. Since Utility Personnel is always changing, Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date

5 General Notes The General Notes are DPW standards, however if you need to be added other notes for your project, please let your DPW PM know.

6 Schedule of Quantities
Quantity Breakdown per street segment designed. Include Pay Items numbers as shown here. Speaking of Pay Items, make sure all DPW Pay items have Technical Spec. are included in the Contract Book. Just a quick note on Approach Milling, Quantifying/Labeling: (If Mainline, Approaches are not paid as approach.

7 Typical Sections Typical Cross Section should be in fact “Typical”, (*) notes underneath section denoting a casual changes between cross section. It’s difficult to follow without any notes.

8 Pavement Core Report Cores and Cores Report will be added to the plan set and not to the Contract Book. Contractor and RPR will have plans set before they will have the Contact Book.

9 Curb Ramp Details Show Spot Elevation and Slope on all Curb Ramp Details, also include quantities for the follow items: Concrete, Sidewalk, Detectable Warnings, Curb and Gutter. Detectable Warning should be shown in the proper location also shown tyned Grooves. More correct information shown on the details, the less question we will have from the contractor. Hopefully!

10 Plan Sheet Consistency of Plan between the Prime and Subs:
Legend should be on every sheet and only what’s pertain to that sheet. Show address for all properties, Plan Sheet are to true scale at 11x17, Full at 22x34. Few things that need to be on every sheet, North Arrow, stationing alignment, hatching, begin and end stationing. All shading and text size should be the same from the Prime to the Sub’s set of plans. The only things that are different are Company Logo and Engineers seal.

11 Design Standards Sheets
